Surgery was furthest from my mind when I went to the minor emergency center last Monday. The Friday before I had some stomach pain which was more like burning/radiating back pain. So I figured it was heart burn or something. It only lasted a few hours so I shrugged it off as nothing. Then it happened again on Sunday, mothers day. This time it lasted for 10 hours and was really bad. I couldn't sleep and Tylenol did nothing. Well the pain again went away pretty abruptly and I just figured at this point it was something more like an ulcer. Adam really wanted me to go see the doc so I called and they had no openings for 2 weeks, so I said forget it. I looked around on line for a minor med center that had real doctors and and scanning equipment. Luckly there was one by our house. Adam's mom drove down to watch the kids. I still really didnt think anything was wrong and was hesitant to go to the minor er when I had no pain. I feel like a dork goin gto the doc if I am not dying. Anyways I got there and told them I was in pain, which was Adam's advice so they would take me seriously. 7 sounded good, and in fact the docs there were rushing around because they thought I was in pain, lol. Ok so they hook me up to an IV right away and make me drink this horrible dye so they can give me a cat scan. Which they forgot to tell me that is what the drink was for. I had one sip and was like yuck why do you want me to drink this stuff. Oh yea it would have made more sense that it was dye and that they wernt trying to poisin me, lol. They do the Cat scan and the doc came back about 30 minutes later in a rush. All I caught from what he was saying was that it was my gall bladder and that they were going to addmit me to the hospital down town. "what?!" I was thinking he was comming back to tell me it was an ulcer and here are some antibiotics.
A little while later they bring the ambluance in to pick me up. So again I feel like a huge dork riding in the ambluance when I was in no pain, not to mention it is dark out side and the cabin lights were on in the truck and every one on I59 could see me in a gown, grr.
So I am taken to my room on the 15th floor, which had a great view. I signed up for the double room because it was free. Which is totally a gamble when it comes to room mates. Luckly mine didnt come until the next day and she was really nice. They told me that night around 11 pm that they would do surgury the next day some time. Adam was so sweet and sat with me all night and slept in the most uncomfortable chair known to man. He got up the next morning to go take a final. The doc came back in that morning telling me that they couldnt do the surgury that day because they were booked, but that they could do it on Thursday which was two days from then. But that they wanted me to stay in the hospital until then. Ugg I asked politly if he could see if he could squeeze me in. He went and checked and had a cancelation for that day and he could infact do it that day. Thank goodness! I really didnt want to have to think about being cut open for 2 days. The anticipation would kill me.
About 10 mintues after Adam left to take his final they wheeled me out for my surgry. I was a little nervous, but still in shock that I was there in the first place. I got in to the OR pretty much right away and dont remember being put out. Evidetly when I came too I was fighting with the doc and pulling out my tube that was down my throat. I dont know why I am so fistly when I am awoken. I do it to Adam too when he nicely wakes me up. He knows not to get near me when I am sleeping. Delaney is a fighter too when you wake her up so I know where she gets it!
Anyways I scratched up my throat pretty good from trying to pull that tube out, ouch! And about 15 minutes after I got back from the OR Adam came in from finishing his final. So the timing couldnt have been better. He was thinking about reschudling his final for me which I think would have been really tough for the kind of final it was.
The surgury went well and I am waiting for the biopsy of the gall bladder but they said that it was full of small stones and inflamed. I go to the follow up appointment Wednesday so I will get more info on it then.
For now I am on a low fat diet for the next couple of weeks until my liver takes over producing more stuff to make up for what the gall bladder did. I can tell you that when they say low fat they mean it, yesterday was rough. There must have been fat in something I ate and I felt horrible. Also no lifting for 2 weeks, which is tough when I have an infant to carry around so of course I have broken that rule. We are moving Mid June so I sould be good to go by then though.
Anyways something I thought was nothing really was something. I am glad everything turned out well and I am all healthy again.

First Hair cut
Delaney surprisingly, has not gone for her official first hair cut. She is now 39 months old. My mom came into town after I had surgery last week and so went to the mall while she was here. She suggested that we take Delaney for a hair cut. Her hair was looking a little scraggly. Now I have given her a hand full of hair cuts to keep it growing evenly but it is by far from professional.
We had the woman cutting her hair give her a bob, which is what she had anyways. I really couldn't think of anything else you could do with it. Delaney did pretty well. She enjoyed looking
at her self in the mirror, but had a hard time not moving her head around.
It turned out great!
Here are a few pictures of the process :)

The back of her hair cut. We went to build a bear later that day. Her hair always flips that way. She inherited my hard to control hair, sorry Delaney.

Valentines day
We had a great Valentines day, it is all about silliness and fun when you have kids. Delaney wanted to deck out the house with hearts. So we painted a few, but she was not satisfied with the outcome. "More hearts" she cried! But to her dismay, I had thought that we had painted enough. We spent the week making heart shaped cookies, most of which are hidden away in the freezer for a later date, or quick craft. While we made the cookies, I videoed them. Of course they had help from me, and the lines required some prompting, but they really enjoy making cookies, or eating we may say, so they knew what to do. I edited the short videos I took and pasted them all together to make one movie. There was a little contest going on for the TV channel PBS kids sprout. The kids love this channel and best of all the grand prize is going to see Thomas the Tank engine live! Now if you don't know Delaney is Thomas obsessed. She has train after train and she will play for hours with her train set. I am not sure she will win or really that she knows that the video was a contest, but it was worth a shot to win the tickets. That would be a great memory for her, seeing Thomas. Well we will find out the first week of March if anything. The videos will be aired March 2nd-March 6th around 1:45-2:30 PM CST if you are interested.
We started up an old Weisbruch tradition for our kids this Valentines day. Adam and his family had a dance party every Valentines. So Adam and I pulled out our old CD collections and chose a hand full of oldies (well oldies for us that is) Funny thing is we were destined for each other from the day we met in high school back in 2000. We have almost identical CD collections of about 200 CD's each. There is never a fight over what we will listen to in the car, that is for sure. The kids sure liked some of the music. Adam choose a few DC Talk songs that the kids really didn't like, as you will see in the video above. We had a great time dancing. Patrick wakes up in the morning and asks for the "dance" meaning the music in the binders.
It was a wonderful Valentines day 2009

Delaney's 3rd birthday
Delaney turned 3 this February 5th. I cant believe she is getting so old. She now has a full head of blond hair and it is getting pretty thick in the back. Her vocabulary is broad, and she thinks she knows how to use it to get her way. So we are working hard to set boundaries with her. She is pretty tall now about 39 inches tall. So she is mostly in 4T pants and shirts. She is also completly potty trained now. We started last September, the week of hurricane IKE, with the 3 day potty training method. Needless to say we only got to day two before we evacuated, but she pretty much had it down. She wore a pull up to Dallas and kept it dry for the entire 5 hour drive! http://www.3daypottytraining.com/?PIA66171AYEX I cant speak more highly of this method! It is very worth purchasing this woman's method. It is amazing how well it works. We originally began potty training her May 08 with little constant success. So by June we took a break out of frustration. So any one looking to take the potty training plunge, use this method.
Delaney loves Thomas the Tank engine! It has been about a year now and he is still her favorite toys of all time. For Christmas she got (and Patrick) a train table. She plays with it every day. Some of the tracks make train noises and provides constant entertainment for her.
For Delaney's birthday we met a friend up at a place called Stomping Grounds . It was such a fun place. There were lots of things for the kids to climb on and slide down, all while the moms have a cup of coffee or a snack. It is the best of both worlds, coffee house/playground! Genius.
After Stomping Grounds we came back to our house with Gianna, Delaney and Patrick's friend. Delaney had a little pink princess cake, that the kids loved. And we had dinner. It was a fun day for her.

Patrick's 2nd Birthday
Patrick turned two January 2nd. He is becoming such a big hansom boy. He is a sweet blond headed little guy. His vocabulary is exploding right now. He is now speaking in short sentences and his words are getting clearer and clearer. He loves to climb and jump off of things now. Thank goodness we have a playground 4 houses down!
On Patrick's birthday we were still in Dallas for Christmas. We celebrated his birthday with mine (January 1st) on December 31st. Debbie, Adam's mom made a great dinner of Lasagna, yum, and a strawberry cake. Patrick loves loves sweets so his favorite part was the cake. We had all of my family there and Adam's family too. After dinner the kids went outside and threw poppers to ring in the new year. We let them stay up until midnight to see the ball drop but Patrick is the only one who made it.
Then on Patrick's real birthday we make him chocolate chip pancakes with a simile face of whip cream. He loved it and was covered in chocolate. And if that wasn't enough sugar he had a little smash cake all to him self as well. Needless to say he was wired that night. He had a wonderful birthday
